HT12D Decoder IC
The HT12D is a decoder integrated circuit that is part of the 212 series. These decoders are primarily utilized in remote control systems for applications like burglar alarms, car door controllers, and security systems. They are crafted to work with RF and infrared circuits. The HT12D is compatible with 212 series encoders, sharing the same address numbers and data format. It transforms serial inputs from an encoder, such as an RF transmitter, into parallel outputs. The device compares the serial input data with the local addresses three times and, if it matches without errors, decodes the input data code. A high signal is then sent to the VT pin to signal a valid transmission. The HT12D decodes 12 bits of information, comprising 8 address bits and 4 data bits. The data on the 4-bit latch type output pins is retained until new data arrives.
