HT12E Encoder IC
The HT12E is an encoder integrated circuit within the 212 series of encoders. It is designed to work with a corresponding decoder to form a remote control system and is typically used in RF and infrared circuits. Both the encoder and decoder must share the same address and data format.
The HT12E encodes 12 bits of parallel data into serial output for transmission via an RF transmitter. These 12 bits are divided into 8 address bits and 4 data bits. The HT12E features a transmission enable pin that activates on a low signal. Upon receiving a trigger signal, the encoder transmits the set addresses and data with header bits through RF or infrared transmission. This 4-word transmission cycle continues as long as the enable pin remains low. Once the pin goes high, the encoder completes its current cycle and ceases transmission.
