Waveshare ENC28J60 Ethernet Board
The Waveshare ENC28J60 Ethernet Board, equipped with an Ethernet port, is designed to convert Ethernet input into SPI, making it perfect for connecting microcontrollers to an Ethernet network.
This board utilizes Microchip’s ENC28J60 integrated circuit, enabling internet connectivity for microcontroller systems, such as Arduino boards, via Ethernet.
Its compact size and SPI support make it suitable for a wide range of projects.
The board features the new SSOP 12 package Microchip ENC28J60 Stand-Alone Ethernet Controller IC, which comes with a comprehensive set of features to meet most network protocol requirements. It offers a direct connection to most microcontrollers through a standard SPI interface and supports a transfer speed of up to 25MHz.
The ENC28J60 Ethernet Module adheres to the industry-standard Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) and is crafted to act as an Ethernet network interface for any controller with SPI capability.
This module includes all you need to change your Arduino into an ethernet device for your network. These days many makers prefer WiFi-type network communication. Ethernet still has lots of applications and still stays a fast and secure way to connect to network devices.
