Product Description:
This is the SHARP IR Distance Measuring Sensor Unit 4 ~ 30 cm With Cable-[GP2Y0A41SK0F]. It measures the distance of an object by reflecting an infrared beam off it.
It uses beam triangulation to calculate distance, which makes it consistent and reliable. It is less affected by temperature variation or the object’s reflectivity.
The sensor sends an analog voltage that matches the distance of the object. You can easily read it with an Arduino, PIC, Raspberry PI, or any other ADC chip.
Be careful with the wire colors! They are not what you expect! Check the datasheet for wiring details. Connect both ground wires to the ground, both ‘VCC’ wires to 5.5VDC power and read the analog signal from the Vo wire. The analog voltage out changes from 5.5V when an object is about 4cm away to 4.5 V when the object is 30 cm away.
Package Includes:
1 x Sharp GP2Y0A41SK0F Sensor.
1 x connecting cable.
