The Pixhawk Digital Airspeed Sensor, which comes with its own pitot tube, is designed to work with the Pixhawk PX4 autopilot system. It features a high-resolution, low-offset digital pressure sensor, ensuring accurate airspeed readings without the noise and offsets common in older analog systems.
The Measurement Specialties 4525DO sensor can measure speeds up to 100 m/s (223 mph or 360 km/h) with a resolution of 0.84 Pa, delivering data at 14 bits from a 24-bit delta-sigma ADC. It also includes a built-in temperature sensor to calculate true airspeed using the MS5611 static pressure sensor on the Pixhawk PX4.
This sensor kit, supported on all Pixhawk and PX4 autopilot boards, is not affected by the heat of nearby components, providing more accurate air temperature readings. It comes with M3 / 6-32 mounting holes. Note that this unit is only necessary for fixed-wing aircraft and not for multi-copters.
