PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
This product is a solid-state relay (SSR) module with the model number AC To AC SSR-40AA. It can switch up to 100A of current with an input voltage range of 80-250VAC and a load voltage range of 24-380VAC. It uses a zero cross trigger control method to reduce noise and electromagnetic interference.
A solid-state relay is an electronic switch that does not have any moving parts, unlike an electromechanical relay. There are different types of SSRs, such as photo-coupled SSR, transformer-coupled SSR, and hybrid SSR. This product is a photo-coupled SSR, which means it is controlled by a low voltage signal that is optically isolated from the load.
The low voltage signal activates an LED, which in turn activates a photo-sensitive diode. The diode then switches on a pair of thyristors, silicon-controlled rectifiers, or MOSFET transistors to control the load.
The module has four screw terminals for connecting wires with ring or fork connectors. It also has a plastic cover that slides over the relay to protect the terminals from dust and moisture.
